
Dental Hygienists

Anne Burton has been a dental hygienist in our office for 35 years. Anne is originally from Massachusetts and received her dental hygiene education at the Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene in Boston. She enjoys walking, bicycling, yoga, and travel. Anne credits her long association to the excellent doctors and the congenial and caring staff. Her patients are very loyal and give Anne credit for helping them “keep their teeth for a lifetime”.

Sandra Freedman is a dental hygienist who has practiced with us for 34 years. She is a native Atlantan and attended Grady High School, the University of Georgia and Loyola University in New Orleans. Sandra’s interests include her children, her extended family, her dog, exercise, and traveling. She credits her longevity here to the family atmosphere. “We take a real interest in our patients. Our doctors treat their patients the ‘old fashioned way’.” Sandra epitomizes that caring attitude towards everyone.

Audrey Schemer has been a dental hygienist in our office for 33 years. She is originally from Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan. She has two children and enjoys tennis and cooking. She especially likes the continuity she has achieved with her patients over the years. She attributes her long association to our warm staff and the excellent quality of patient care delivered by both the doctors and the staff.

Jennifer “Jenny” Joswick has been with our office for five years. She is from Carrollton, Georgia and is a graduate of West Central Technical College in Douglasville, Georgia. Jenny is full of energy and fun and enjoys sports, movies, going to the gym, racquet ball, interior decorating, shopping and especially helping others. She loves the doctors, staff and her patients and had always wanted to be a periodontal dental hygienist. “I love helping my patients” sums up Jenny’s dedication to her profession.

Dianna Driscoll is the newest member of our dental hygiene team. She has practiced dental hygiene for over 25 years and has great knowledge and skill. Making people smile is her specialty! She has been a periodontal hygienist for most of her career and looks forward to building relationships with our great patient family. Dianna is a native Atlantan who enjoys tennis, music, theater and sports. She is the mother of two daughters.
Dental Assistants

Nicole Abraham-Lawson is our newest dental assistant, having started with us in August, 2007. Nicole moved to Atlanta from Brooklyn, New York where she worked for a Manhattan periodontist for 11 years. She is the mother of two children. The whole family loves living in the Atlanta area. Nicole says Atlanta’s green foliage and flowers remind her a little of her native Trinidad. She is a great new member of the team and we hope she adds many years to our office.

Shenita Leavell joined our office as a dental assistant six years ago after completing service with the U.S. Navy. Shenita does double duty both as an assistant and as our assistant insurance coordinator. She is the mother of two boys and enjoys spending time with family, reading, outdoor activities, animals and exercising. She enjoys our friendly environment with wonderful patients. “The knowledge and history of the people here surpass any place that I’ve been before. This is an office where patients are cared for and valued…a place of ethics, morals and tradition.”

Kim Sharpe is a very caring dental assistant who has been with the office for 18 years. She has an amazing ability to always make the patients feel welcome and comfortable. Kim is from Thomson, Georgia and has one son. She enjoys old movies, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She attributes her longevity here to the people with whom she works and to our great patients.

Ruthie Wood has worked here for 29 years as a dental assistant. She is a native Atlantan and is the mother of two sons. Ruthie enjoys spending time with family, traveling, the theater, and volunteering through her church and community in many worthwhile activities. Her calm and quiet demeanor are especially welcome by our patients. She says her longevity here is due to the caring atmosphere of our office and the strong friendships developed over the years.

Gwen Thompson is a dedicated dental assistant who has been with the office for 33 years. She is originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama and has one daughter. Gwen manages our equipment and maintenance and oversees our dental supply inventory. She enjoys reading, word puzzles and card games. She attributes her longevity with the office to her admiration of the doctors, fondness and friendship with other staff members and her love of the patients she has gotten to know so well over the years.
Business Staff

Jeanne Guidetti is our Business Manager and has been with the office for 33 years. She is originally from Rochester, New York and has lived in the Atlanta area since 1976. She enjoys traveling, reading, the occasional poker game and spending time with family and friends. Jeanne’s quarter century plus of work at Drs. Sugarman and Brunner is due to the lifelong friendships with other staff members and the caring attitude of the doctors towards their patients. “From the clinical to the financial, we try very, very hard to make our patients’ experience as gentle and caring as possible.”

Maggie Young is our Executive Secretary and Insurance Coordinator. She has been with us for 6 years. Maggie moved here from Poland 10 years ago to pursue business administration studies. Her interests include a love of traveling, being outdoors, Pilates, good movies and cuisine. Maggie enjoys our great motivating atmosphere with opportunities to always learn new things. She says it is a great feeling to be a member of an amazing team. We think our team is amazing because she is a part of it.
Receptionists

Diane Boykin is our receptionist and hygiene schedule coordinator. She has been with the office for 40 years and has served in many capacities (dental assistant, secretary, bookkeeper) over those years. Diane is Georgia “born and raised”, as are her two children. She enjoys traveling, volunteering with senior citizens and children. She also enjoys all sports, especially baseball and football. Diane credits her amazing longevity to the family atmosphere and the family values of our office. “The people that work here are like family.”
Claire Gordon is our receptionist and doctors’ schedule coordinator. She has been with the office for seven years. Claire is originally from New Orleans but moved here from the Florida Keys. Her many interests include reading mysteries, movies, walking, art galleries and museums. Claire enjoys working here because it is not just a job – it’s as though we are a family. “We work together to provide our patients with great care and customer service.”
